Melanie McNeilly – Oncology Nurse Specialist

“I’ve worked in several different oncology units in London, which is where my passion for Oncology began, as I’ve always found it interesting and challenging. What makes my role special at Auckland Oncology is that I get to work closely with patients and their families to make sure their journey is seamless and pleasant during a very unsettling and difficult time.

While most of my day-to-day duties involve the administration and education of chemotherapy, the management of patients and multidisciplinary referrals, it’s always the opportunity to make a positive difference in a patient’s cancer journey that motivates me.

What makes working at Auckland Oncology different is that we have a very holistic approach to how we care for our patients. We are completely evidence based in all delivery of care and our patients always come first.”
